چکیده

Background: Relative hypovolemia may predispose to severe or prolonged hypotension after spinal anesthesia in patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries. Empirical administration of fluid preload is time consuming, costly and might lead volume overload, especially elderly patients. Therefore, predicting post great importance reserve infusion for susceptible Ultrasonographic evaluation the internal jugular vein (IJV) diameter has been used estimate intravascular ICU. we investigated efficacy sonographic measurements parameters Methodology: The study was conducted on 62 scheduled Sonographic IJV cross-sectional area were recorded at supine Trendelenburg position before anaesthesia. Blood pressure monitored 15 minutes all documented. Results: Twenty-eight (45.2%) developed hypotension. rate increase with change patient’s posture significantly higher hypotensive According ROC curves analysis, a 12.36% diameter, 25.55% cross sectional showed moderate specificity sensitivity prediction Conclusion: Preoperative crosssectional can predict occurrence post-spinal
